“Our mission is to democratize the future, democratizing Strategic Foresight”

Here in Spain the discipline of Strategic Foresight is relatively unknown (especially outside the academic world), but in northern Europe and the US it is already widespread and is widely used by many organizations (both in the public and private sectors) . Disney, Intel, Shell … are just some names of companies that have been nurturing for years the benefits of implementing Strategic Foresight internally.

As the discipline has been expanding (especially in the last 10 years) companies specialized in Strategic Foresight have appeared in these regions, helping companies to take that step and guide them in the process. But there are other consultancies that, long before Strategic Foresight was known in their region, were already talking about it, disseminating it, studying it in depth and advising managers and business leaders to take the first steps in this discipline.

One of them, with 20 years of experience, is Kedge, a global consultancy specialized in Strategic Foresight, innovation and strategic design, with a strong focus on the most human part of the future. With the mission of “democratizing the future”, they lead a well-known training program in Strategic Foresight (The Futures School), write regularly in the most prestigious journals in the field of business and innovation, and give lectures in numerous forums on the future , even reaching NASA. In their intense activity, they have helped private corporations, public administrations, third sector companies, etc. in practically every continent to change their way of thinking and introduce the concept of the future in their strategic thinking, both in the short and long term.

I have the great pleasure of getting to know its founders and of working with them on a very interesting project (which I hope to be able to announce shortly), in which I do not stop learning from their knowledge, experience and human quality .

When I told them about my idea of launching the first blog in Spanish on Strategic Foresight, they not only supported the project, but they were happy to participate in an interview for the blog. I hope it’s the first of many interviews with people from whom to learn about this discipline, but of course, it will be difficult to maintain the bar of guests!

The video is in English for being the common language between both, but you can read a transcript summarized in Spanish below, and download the original full transcript in the link at the end of the post.
