Robin provides advice on how to infuse foresight in organizations in which the day-to-day operation is always “mission critical.” She also offers the following recommendations:
- Take some training – educate yourself!
- Network with others within and outside your mission set!
- Focus on execution – do something!

Robin Champ is the Chief of the Enterprise Strategy Division at the United States Secret Service (USSS), leading both strategic planning and strategic foresight.
Prior to joining USSS, Ms. Champ was the Chief of the Global Futures Office at the Defense Threat Reduction Agency, where she spearheaded the introduction of Scenario-Based Planning in the organization.
In addition to her official position, Ms. Champ co-leads the Federal Foresight Community of Interest (FFCoI.org). She also guest lectures on foresight at George Washington University’s “Mastering Strategy for the Public Sector” course.
