In this conversation with Kedge Principal Frank Spencer, Futurist Radha Mistry shares her ideas about the evolution of human development in virtual worlds. Topics covered include the future of the digital landscape, adopting new metaphors for online embodiment, and the importance of democratizing foresight in every environment.
Radha Mistry has a background in architecture, narrative environments, and strategic foresight.
In corporate strategy in the Office of the CTO at Autodesk, she constructs scenarios about the future that help explore the impact of emerging technologies and understand how they will change the way people design and make things.
Prior to Autodesk, Radha focused on the Future of Work with the Steelcase Applied Research group at the intersection of human behavior, technology, and the built environment. Previous to Steelcase, Radha was part of the Arup Foresight + Innovation team in London and San Francisco, crafting speculative futures for global clients; and was one of the original co-founders of GOATstudio in New Orleans —bringing some “swagger” and better opportunities for young designers in the architecture industry.
Radha has also worked on E.U.-funded community engagement and arts initiatives in numerous cities across Europe, has exhibited work during the Lisbon Architecture Triennale. She is passionate about how we might transform stories about the future into tangible outcomes that drive people to positive action.
